Exaprotect Announces 500% Growth Following Solsoft Acquisition

Leading Security Management Company Heads into 2009 with Record Growth, Significant Customer and Partner Momentum and an Expanded Global Footprint

Mountain View, CA—November 17, 2008—Exaprotect, a leader in security management innovation, today announced that the company has achieved 500% growth following the October 2006 acquisition of Solsoft, a leading security policy management vendor. The company has also experienced record growth in recent quarters, achieving 92% year-over-year revenue growth in Q308 over Q307 and 33% revenue growth from Q208 to Q308, and is on track to exceed expected growth for the year. In addition to considerable revenue growth, Exaprotect continued to prove itself as a leader in the security management with the release of the Exaprotect Unified Architecture and several other significant product releases, key additions to its customer and an expanded global footprint through key partnerships.

“Exaprotect is uniquely positioned to serve the security management needs of large organizations, particularly in today’s climate of mergers and acquisitions that lead to increasingly complex global infrastructures,” said Jean-Francois Dechant, CEO, Exaprotect. “Our competitive win rate and strong pipeline are a testament to the strength of our solutions and our expanding global presence underscores our future growth potential. As we look toward 2009, we continue to be committed to delivering innovative solutions to our customers and raising the bar for the security management industry.”

CUSTOMER AND PARTNER MOMENTUM
In 2008, Exaprotect saw strong demand for the company’s leading-edge NCCM and SIEM solutions and closed several substantial deals, including the addition of more than a dozen major organizations to its roster of blue-chip customers over the past three quarters. These organizations include the US National Guard, AIRFACTS and Oregon State, as well as a global cosmetics brand, a multi-national telecom company, a media conglomerate and the fifth largest airline.

Exaprotect’s market leadership and technology innovation was strengthened by several new strategic alliances. In March, Exaprotect partnered with Fortinet to integrate Solsoft ChangeManager with Fortinet’s flagship FortiGate(TM) line of security appliances, enabling the two companies to deliver unified and centralized security policy management in large, multi-vendor network environments. Exaprotect has also experienced significant channel partner momentum, including key partnerships with Spyders in Canada, HP Thailand, which partnered with Exaprotect to bundle LogManager and HP Proliant Servers for the small and medium enterprise market, HP Brazil and NCT, an IT solutions provider focused on the Brazilian government market.

TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION
In 2008, Exaprotect continued to bring innovative, game-changing security management technology to market. Most significantly, in May, Exaprotect unveiled the company’s Unified Architecture, a unique platform that enables the integration between Exaprotect’s Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution, EventManager, and Network Configuration and Change Management (NCCM) solution, Solsoft ChangeManager. With the Unified Architecture, organizations can leverage information produced by EventManager to generate and enforce network-wide policy in ChangeManager.

Exaprotect also extended offerings on both the security and network sides of the product suite. In April, Exaprotect released LogManager 3.0, a log management solution designed to provide organizations with a quick and cost-effective tool for achieving regulatory compliance today while enabling a simple upgrade to full-featured EventManager. In July, Exaprotect announced that ChangeManager supports more network devices than any other NCCM solution on the market—more than 90% of the install base for backbone routers and firewalls—through expanded support for Fortinet, Juniper, Nortel and Check Point Network Devices. In October, Exaprotect released the ChangeManager Appliance to lower operational costs and improve network security efficiencies.

THIRD PARTY ACCOLADES
Third party validation of Exaprotect’s product excellence, innovation and leadership continues. SC Magazine published a four-star review of Solsoft ChangeManager in April. The review declared, “The tool clearly shines in larger organizations where policy management for disparate devices is often time-consuming,” and praised ChangeManager’s “powerful drag-and-drop policy creation” and “many different features for building and deploying network policies on a large scale.”

In May, Gartner published the Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management solutions, which identified Exaprotect’s strengths as, “Exaprotect’s appliance-based offering is oriented primarily to large and midsize deployments that require a mix of SEM and SIM functions,” and “integration between Exaprotect’s SIEM and network device management technology provides automated response and network device change discovery/reconciliation capabilities.”
